As you may recall from my earlier post, my son celebrates a December birthday. This year, My son turned 8 and instead of one of my crafty theme parties, he wanted to have a laser tag party. I was fine with this, but of course I couldn’t just do simple party favors…. I had to have a theme!!!
I decided laser tag was secret agent/spy like and after quite a bit of Pinterest surfing I found quite a few ideas I could make work!
Secret Agent Kit Supplies:
- Envelopes ( I got mine at Wal-Mart)
- Bag of pens
- Memo Pads (Sold in 4 packs)
- Pop Rocks
- Juicy Fruit gum (Color coordinated and a commonly liked flavor)
- Sticky mustaches for spy disguises
- Labels/Sticker Paper for DIY printed theme elements
Once I had selected the Secret Agent Kit Supplies, I felt the need for some assembly and crafting to insure the theme came through. Using my adobe Illustrator I simply made different labels and printed them on sticker paper. Super easy! To help reduce cost, I found a pack of cut outs of mustaches at Hobby Lobby and just added the foam pop dots to the back of them.
As the majority of the party time would be spent running around the Laser Tag arena, there wasn’t a need for too many decorations so I kept it simple. I went to the dollar store and picked up two red and two black star balloons. (They don’t have plain colored circle balloons). Then I added some of my DIY labels to those as well. Lesson learned, the sticker paper did add some weight which caused one of the foil balloons to droop a bit lower. However, most were unaffected.
In the end, my son was thrilled with his party and the party guests not only had fun but also enjoyed the little party favors as well. Chalk this one up for another successful party and a win for Mom! 🙂
